  • This is an endangered slow-growing native tree, which needs sun.

  • It does not have a long lifespan, and it is often attacked by a fungus. Also, animals like chewing on the young saplings.

  • The barrel-shaped nuts are edible. The nut rinds may be used to dye cloth.

  • The leaves have 11-17 leaflets, and the bark is light grey.
